About SocialMediaPants

One thing I’ve noticed is that there is a lot of literature about social media and online communities, whether in print or on the netherwebs, which suffers from:

  1. Being painfully boring, or
  2. Being painfully devoid of insight, or
  3. Being painfully both of the things I just said.

The dynamics of online communities are more interesting than a top 10 list, and the technology allowing them to exist deserves better than “blah blah target objectives something something quarterly blah something” talk.  That is not an actual quote.

Thusly: I have summoned from the swirling cyber-realm this Web Log for your amusement and edification.  I hope to compile my thoughts here as something publication-worthy coalesces beneath this quavering, moist dermal layer.  I’ll be using words like “thusly” and “moist,” so you’ve been warned.
